We are asking people to act, to pledge what you can to show the landowners that people care about the facilities which could still exist here.
With land ownership, a consortium could be eligible for many different pots of funding, especially if, as envisaged, we get to arrange a series of sports teams, coaches, volunteers and partners to work from the site. But first there needs to be a demonstration of the existence of money to start the project off. If the current landowners would be willing to accept a more popular option for the site we could be in a position to make this facility into a reality.
We are asking for people to pledge any amount and leave their ideas for the site.
At this stage no actual money will be required – this would only be required in future if the developers would accept our offer. At this stage we would like to show that there is another way for this site. Rather than it being something that no-one in the area wants nor would benefit from; this could be the type of space that could serve generations of peoples’ sporting, health and recreational needs.
